Montana, the makers of Brancott wines, planted the first modern day vineyards in Marlborough and created New Zealand’s first varietal wine with Gisborne Chardonnay. Then we made the original vintage of what was to become our country’s signature wine – Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

Our search for fresh possibilities continues to this day. It finds expression not only in wine, but also in the adventure inherent in travel and creative enterprise.

Around the world, more people discover New Zealand wine through our wines than any other.

Unerring instinct led us to grow and make some of New Zealand’s classic wine styles in the regions where they found their purest expression, such as Sauvignon Blanc in Marlborough and Chardonnay in Gisborne.

Now, after more than 30 years, we offer wine lovers a selection of more than 30 distinctive varietal wines. Alongside the latest, refined vintages of those early benchmark wines, you’ll find exquisitely crafted expressions of New Zealand’s top wine styles, as well as bold new wines that showcase subtle variations between - and even within - regions.
